Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

In short: Luna has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We receive none of your data. Everything stays on your Mac, except what you choose to send to the services you connect yourself.

1. Who is responsible

Luna is published by Higor Alves (“we”). Contact: [contact address: to be added before launch].

2. Data we collect

None. Luna does not send any data to us or to any server we operate. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no third-party SDK.

3. Data stored on your Mac

WhatWhereWhy
API keys and tokens you enter (Anthropic, GitHub, Vercel)The macOS KeychainTo call these services on your behalf
Preferences (sound, delays, your buddy, active integrations, shortcuts)App preferences on your MacTo remember your settings
Files you drop on the notchA copy in the app's own folder, removed after 7 daysSo you can ask about them, send them to a session or attach them to an email
Claude Code session events (project name, current step, permission requests)In memory onlyTo show them in the notch
Focus sessionsA history file in the app's own folderTo draw your week and your streak

You can delete all of this at any time by removing your keys in Settings, then deleting the app and its folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Luna.

4. Services you connect yourself

Luna only talks to the services you configure, directly from your Mac, using your own keys. Those services process your data under their own privacy policies:

  • Anthropic (Claude API). When you chat or ask about a file or a window, the text you type, the file content and the window context you chose are sent to Anthropic.
  • GitHub, Vercel. Luna reads data from your own accounts (repositories, deployments) to display it. It only reads from them.
  • GitHub through the GitHub CLI. If you are signed in to gh, Luna can ask it for its token instead of asking you for one. That token is held in memory only and never written anywhere.

Neither these requests nor what the services send back ever reach us.

5. The Claude Code mod

If you install the Luna mod in Claude Code, Claude Code sends session events to Luna through a local connection on your Mac, and Luna can send it the messages you type in the notch. The mod forwards only the fields Luna displays; a tool's output and the rest of its input never leave Claude Code. These events never leave your Mac through Luna.

The Usage charts are drawn from Claude Code's own transcripts in ~/.claude/projects, read on your Mac. Nothing from them is sent anywhere.

Luna only changes ~/.claude/settings.json to remove the hooks older versions installed, after you confirm and after a dated backup.

6. Calendar

If you allow it, Luna reads your upcoming events through macOS to show them in the notch. Your calendar stays on your Mac.

7. Email

When you send a file by email, the message is created and sent by your own Mail app. Luna never sends email by itself.

8. System permissions

Depending on the features you use, macOS may ask you to allow Automation (Mail, Terminal), Calendar, Screen Recording (to capture a window you attach) or Accessibility (to read the window you attach and to move windows when you snap them). When your buddy comes out onto the desktop, it reads where your windows are and which app owns them, never their titles or their contents. Each permission is only used for the feature you triggered and can be revoked at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

9. This website

This site sets no cookies, has no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. It remembers the buddy you pick in your own browser's storage; that choice is never sent to us. Like any website, its host (Vercel) processes the technical data needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address.

10. Children

Luna is a developer tool and is not directed at children.

11. Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For data held by a service you connected, please contact that service. If you live in the EU, you can also contact your data protection authority.

12. Changes

When this policy changes, the new version replaces this one here, under a new date.
